Former Chief People Officer Novelis and Chief Learning Officer, The Home Depot
Dr. Leslie W. Joyce most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer for Exide Technologies – a world leader in stored energy solutions headquartered in Milton, GA Exide has manufacturing, sales and distribution capabilities across the globe employing approximately 10,000 people. Leslie was responsible for all aspects of the human resources function globally as well as global corporate communications and facilities. She was the primary interface for the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors.
Prior to joining Exide, Dr. Joyce served as Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer for Novelis Inc. — the world's leadingproducer of aluminum rolled products and a world leader in recycling. Leslie was responsible for all aspects of the human resources function globally, including all aspects of the talent value chain from talent acquisition to leadership development, succession planning and talent deployment.
Prior to joining Novelis, Leslie was the Chief Learning Officer for The Home Depot where she led the The Home Depot’s Learning function. Under her leadership, The Home Depot established itself as a leader in innovative and effective approaches to large scale learning and change management, receiving multiple awards to include the Training Top 100 and CLO Magazine’s Award for Strategic Alignment, among others.
Leslie is a Fellow of the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) and has numerous publications and presentations to her credit. She is also a long-serving member of the Board of Directors for the Human Resources Leadership Forum in Atlanta. She received her doctoral degree from North Carolina State University.
